The Pledge Wall below shows the personal messages from vegans who have taken the Vegan Pledge.
Veganism is the essence of humanity.
Primarily, it's my love for the animals, who are sentient beings who deserve the same rights as human animals. Secondary is my love of Mother Nature and caring for my health.
Knowing you are saving animals by being vegan is a wonderful way to live.
Vegan for the animals, always.
In a world full of food options, there is no justification for harming animals for our stomach anymore. Vegan is the intelligent way forward.
Because animals shouldn't be used as a product or for consumption.
Equal rights for all animals, human and non human. Look into the eyes of non human animals and you'll see compassion and love staring back at you.
Animals are here for their own purposes, not to be used as commodities by humans! I pledge to share information about veganism wherever possible!
I have been vegan for 10 years and will always and forever remain vegan. I refuse to support any form of animal exploitation or cruelty. My planned humanitarian animal projects will come to fruition as soon as I am funded.
Being vegan is crucial for me as all creatures deserve the right to autonomy and freedom, and to be safe and loved.
I care deeply about the welfare of animals as sentient beings and view their harm and exploitation in the same way I would towards humans. Animals have a right to a peaceful existence in the same way we expect for people.
Being kind means to every living thing not just people and really it's not that hard!
Veganism means being kind to animals.
I can't be a doctor who eats my own patients.
I have been vegan for nearly 8 years, do animal justice activism and help promote the vegan mindset. I pledge to commit to veganism and animal justice for the rest of my life and wish I'd been vegan since birth.
Vegan for animals and intersectional social justice.
I truly love all sentient beings, so I do my best to avoid consuming them in any form.
I promise to live alongside humans and animals in a kind and caring way.
Being vegan is important to me for animal well-being and safety. Every sentient being is worthy of living free and happy.
I had an awakening some 30 years ago when a message came to my mind saying it is totally unethical and unnecessary to be a part of suffering in the world. That divine message is still with me like it came this morning. I try to spread the message.
I will never harm an animal or eat or wear animal products! I will do what I can to help those animals in need.
If everyone could see the immense suffering that occurs to animals when they are bred, raised, transported and slaughtered for the purposes of human consumption, I'm sure many more people would be vegan.
I pledge to walk lightly on this Earth and respect all lives.
All beings deserve to be free, I hope to see change in my lifetime to better our future
Animals deserve the fundamental right to live free of human exploitation. It's easy, it's kind and it has a lower impact on our planet. Plus your conscience feels freer when you're not complicit in animal cruelty.
I pledge to all of the above. Vegan for life
Vegan for the animals!!!
For an equitable, sustainable, vibrant world for all, just as nature intended.
The reason I'm vegan is for the animals. They suffer so greatly and I do not want to be a participant in the cruelty inflicted on these gentle and kind animals. I've seen enough evidence and am shocked at what goes on out of the public's sight!
In this cruel world choosing what I eat is the single most powerful action I can take that really makes a positive difference. The personal is political.
Animals deserve better, the planet deserves better and I deserve better.
For the animals and our planet (our home), vegan forever.
I care about ALL animals.
Veganism means everything to me. My eyes were opened 10 years ago to the realities of what these animals face. I have been vegan since then and that will never change. Live truly alongside your values!
Animals are everything to me.
Have been plant based for so many years and now want to take my pledge to not take another being's life.
I respect the inner will and bold integrity of all beings. I treat them as I wish to be treated. I love them as I wish to be loved.
As an almost lifelong vegan, along with my kids and grandkids I will continue this legacy long after I am gone.
Being vegan reflects what matters most to me: kindness, awareness and responsibility, for animals, for the earth and for future generations.
Being vegan is important to me for my health.
I pledge that my actions and the way I live my life will never knowingly harm any animal and to always stand up for animal rights.
For the animals and the planet - why being vegan is important to me.
Animals are here with us, not for us - we have no right to exploit them. Animals are sentient beings, not food. My only regret about becoming vegan is that I didn't do it sooner.
Animals are living, conscious beings and have the God-given right to not live in fear and be murdered. Every living being has the right to live. I will not be guilty of their slaughter. Live, precious animals, live!
We do it for the animals. All of us. The exploitation of animals for food, adornment, entertainment and research is OVER. Together we will do this. It is so hard living everyday knowing their pain.
Newly vegan and developing my knowledge.
Vegan for the planet, for the animals and for our health. It's a no brainer!
Veganism is the only justice movement the animals have.
I will not be the reason an animal shakes in fear on the killroom floor.
For the animals!
My husband and I have been vegan for 8+ years. We do it as we are animal lovers and for our health.
Being vegan is important to me because of the animals.
Vegan for the animals!
Modern factory farming is a source of unfathomable pain and suffering. I couldn't respect myself if I were to knowingly participate in the perpetuation of those practices, when readily available alternatives are accessible.
As a lifelong vegan of 68 years, I pledge that I and my family of seven strictly follow a vegan lifestyle and will never deviate from that path. We believe we are equal to all animals and believe all are entitled to respect, consideration and autonomy.
Aiming to reduce harm as much as possible and practicable is be the lowest bar for humans. We are in the unique position of being able to self-determine what is right and wrong, and we're not beholden to instinct. Exploiting animals for pleasure is wrong.
To ensure the lives of all animals are at the forefront, when making all consumer choices.
Humanity is defined by a world without cruelty!
"Run to the rescue with love, and peace will follow." - River Phoenix
I never want to be the reason an animal suffers.
Animals deserve to be treated with respect. They should not be objectified and subjected to abuse and cruelty, their sentience and rights should be recognised. I also believe that a vegan diet is less harmfull to the environment.
End animal cruelty.
You cannot love animals and eat them too. I want the same rights for them as us, people who feel pain shouldn't be treated the way we treat animals.
Vegan? For life! For all creatures great and small!
Being vegan is important to me because I believe that all sentient beings deserve the right to live and feel respected the same way that I would want all human beings to be.
I'll always be vegan, for the rest of my life. I plan to do a great deal in the future to bring about a better life for all animals on our beautiful planet.
I love meat in my mouth but not the animal type.
Being vegan ticks all the boxes - great for action on climate change, animal welfare, health, cost of living, political corruption and corporate imperialism. And just plain delicious!
Animals, ethics, environmental - why being vegan is important to me.
I was a very sick teen with IBS. I discovered that eating vegan was better for my health. I have been vegan for 11 years. It is one of those decisions that is a winfinity: better for your health, better for the animals and better for the environment.
Been vegan since 2010 (vegetarian from 2001 to 2009).
Vegan almost a decade now.
I love the environment where we live, all the plants, the animals and the people. I wish all have happy lives.
I will forever be vegan and ensure that I will live my life without harming any living creature.
Have enjoyed being a life-long vegan. This not only benefits the animals, but also results, at age 92, in my still enjoying runs such as the 14km Sydney City2Surf.
I pledge to put innocent lives over greed, murder, torture and cruelty.
Eat plants, plant trees, live free! Vegan for life!
To help save animals and for good health.
Vegan for the animals.
My food is grown not born.
Animals are here with us not for us!
Vegan for the animals, for the future of the planet, and my health.
Being vegan is important to me because of animal welfare.
For the animals. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. To quote Gary L Francione: 'The idea that we have the right to inflict suffering and death on other sentient beings for the trivial reasons of palette pleasure and fashion, is morally repugnant historically'.
I am vegan because it is the right thing to be. Cruelty free and compassionate for the animals and the planet.
I love animals and will not be part of their suffering.
I do not wish to contribute to the harm or exploitation of animals or the destruction of the planet, to the best of my abilities.
I will not knowingly use or consume animal products & will always treat animals with respect & justice.
I'm an animal lover, so I'm vegan for the animals.
I have been sold (and bought) omnivorism for all my life up till now and I regret it. My health and happiness have both improved now I've let that go.
The world cannot sustain meat and animal products any longer - it's cannibalism. If people went into an abattoir and saw and smelt and heard what goes on, they would not eat meat or any other animal product for the rest of their lives.
Been vegan a real long time. The idea of eating animals is repugnant. My diet is healthy and environmentally responsible.
I am, and always will be, vegan for the animals. This world is their world just as much as it is for humans. Equal rights for animals. The right to be respected not exploited.
All animals are feeling and thinking beings.
Doing it for the animals!
I stand with all sentient beings. Being vegan is the least I can do to combat animal cruelty. Let's speak up for the voiceless.
