The Vegan Pledge is for all vegans, whether you've been vegan for a few days or your whole life.
We are asking every vegan in Australia to join the many others who have publicly confirmed that they follow the principles of veganism. Please take the time to take the pledge and be counted! Show that you are part of a growing vegan social movement striving for a more just world. You will strengthen Vegan Australia's ability to advance the vegan movement and its mission. This has a very important practical use: when we publicly advocate for veganism in our systemic and political work, we will be able to confidently say that we represent a large community of like-minded vegans. Together, we can truly make a difference.
When you take the pledge, you will also have the opportunity to share why being vegan is important to you by writing your own message to others. This, along with your first name and state, will then be shared publicly to our Pledge Wall as a way for us to be counted and for others to see what drives us to be vegan. You can read the powerful statements other vegans have made here on our Pledge Wall.
This is not a pledge for money. We are asking all vegans in Australia to come together to be counted. As a collective, we can do great things. If you are not yet vegan, learn more here.
I promise to live alongside humans and animals in a kind and caring way.
Animals are my friends, not my food. Every creature deserves to live their life with freedom.
I am very against animal abuse and killing and it's a big bonus that a WFPB diet is very healthy and if we stopped animal agriculture we would help rectify the environmental degradation of the planet.
I don't like animals being exploited in any way.
I have not eaten meat since 1984 and have been vegan since 1 January 2017. I will remain proudly vegan for the rest of my life. All sentient lives matter! As well as following a vegan diet, I'll check all purchases to avoid animal ingredients and any testing.
Why do the majority of humans find the killing and eating of some animals, principally herbivores, unremarkable and inculpable, while killing and particularly eating other animals, especially humans, is reflexively condemned as repulsive and taboo? See thecannibalguy.com
Vegan for the animals. No hesitation after taking 50 years for my eyes and heart to be opened. Plant-based for my health, for our precious planet and for my grandchildren and those to come.
The thought of eating or wearing any part of an animal is just abhorrent. All animals' lives are precious. The way animals in the food chain are treated so cruelly makes me determined to be vegan.
I love animals and believe they should exist for their own enjoyment, not for our exploitation.
