The Vegan Pledge is for all vegans, whether you've been vegan for a few days or your whole life.
We are asking every vegan in Australia to join the many others who have publicly confirmed that they follow the principles of veganism. Please take the time to take the pledge and be counted! Show that you are part of a growing vegan social movement striving for a more just world. You will strengthen Vegan Australia's ability to advance the vegan movement and its mission. This has a very important practical use: when we publicly advocate for veganism in our systemic and political work, we will be able to confidently say that we represent a large community of like-minded vegans. Together, we can truly make a difference.
When you take the pledge, you will also have the opportunity to share why being vegan is important to you by writing your own message to others. This, along with your first name and state, will then be shared publicly to our Pledge Wall as a way for us to be counted and for others to see what drives us to be vegan. You can read the powerful statements other vegans have made here on our Pledge Wall.
This is not a pledge for money. We are asking all vegans in Australia to come together to be counted. As a collective, we can do great things. If you are not yet vegan, learn more here.
Animal agriculture is ethically wrong and doesn't make any logical sense - we have other options.
Animal agriculture is a primary driver of biodiversity loss, climate change and causes untold suffering to animals. Shifting global dietary patterns is vital to address the climate crisis, and shift towards a sustainable and just future.
Humans are no more important than any other animal. All animals (from the extremely minute to the extremely large, and all in between) are beautiful sentient beings who deserve our love and respect. Vegetarian most of my life. Now vegan for 12 years.
Good should be grown and harvested, not born and killed.
I have always loved all animals and hate the way so many are treated. After growing up in a meat-eating house, I first became vegetarian as a young adult because of animal farming methods and later converted to veganism. It aligns with my values!
Vegan for the animals.
I'm here on this earth to inflict the least amount of harm and suffering as possible
I'm an advocate for health, lover of animals, and author of vegan rural romance. Vegan for life!
I vow to be vegan, to honour and respect all life forms and to raise awareness for the sanctity and preciousness of all life. I believe that if our parents showed us where and how our food was made, we would have chosen to be vegan at a very young age.
