The new Australian charity, Doctors For Nutrition has a mission to educate healthcare practitioners, institutions and the general public about the transformative role of food as medicine. In early 2019, Doctors For Nutrition will be hosting some highly regarded international and local doctors and dietitians to share their knowledge on evidence-based eating for optimum health.
First up is the Young At Heart Nutrition Symposium in Brisbane on Sunday 13 January 2019 with keynote speaker Dr Kim Williams, former head of the American College of Cardiology. Switching up his own diet after a health scare, Dr Williams' research led him to conclude that: "There are two kinds of cardiologists: vegans and those who haven't read the data." This full-day event is for practitioners and the public alike, with a program of expert presenters, delicious vegan catering and the Australian premiere of the brand new documentary, Diet Fiction. If you are concerned about health, this symposium is a must. Learn more and register here. Please also RSVP and share the Facebook event.
From 15 to 17 February 2019, Melbourne will host the Southern Hemisphere's first plant-based Nutrition in Healthcare Conference. After attending the North American versions of this event for the past six years, the Doctors For Nutrition founders knew there was a growing, and as yet unmet, appetite for this vital evidence-based information in Australia. Fast forward three years in the planning, and the Asia Pacific region can now claim our very own plant-powered nutrition conference! Headlined by Dr Neal Barnard (President of the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine) and Dr Scott Stoll (Co-founder of The Plantrician Project) alongside over 15 other international and local speakers, this inaugural event is not to be missed. With a gala dinner, full day conference, add-on seminar sessions, two vegan documentary premieres and fully vegan catering as part of this big weekend, it's not surprising that tickets are already half sold out! EARLY-BIRD PRICING END THIS FRIDAY (14 December). Learn more and register here. Please also RSVP and share the Facebook event.
