The Vegan Pledge is for all vegans, whether you've been vegan for a few days or your whole life.
We are asking every vegan in Australia to join the many others who have publicly confirmed that they follow the principles of veganism. Please take the time to take the pledge and be counted! Show that you are part of a growing vegan social movement striving for a more just world. You will strengthen Vegan Australia's ability to advance the vegan movement and its mission. This has a very important practical use: when we publicly advocate for veganism in our systemic and political work, we will be able to confidently say that we represent a large community of like-minded vegans. Together, we can truly make a difference.
When you take the pledge, you will also have the opportunity to share why being vegan is important to you by writing your own message to others. This, along with your first name and state, will then be shared publicly to our Pledge Wall as a way for us to be counted and for others to see what drives us to be vegan. You can read the powerful statements other vegans have made here on our Pledge Wall.
This is not a pledge for money. We are asking all vegans in Australia to come together to be counted. As a collective, we can do great things. If you are not yet vegan, learn more here.
Choosing a vegan lifestyle is a promise to honour the planet, respect all living beings, and foster a healthier future for ourselves and generations to come.
Being vegan is important to me because all sentient beings deserve to live a life without cruelty, pain and fear.
It's about time the cult of carnism gets abolished and left where it always should've stayed - the Dark Ages. Power back to the people! Away with the cult of carnism and the medicopharmaceutical parasites who profit from our misery!
Vegetarian for 10 years, now pledging to be vegan. Animals are my best friends. Way better than humans. Animals make me smile, my heart sing and a warm glow throughout my whole body and the thought of them not having the best life makes me sad.
In the past, taking a life was a sacrifice for human survival, now it is a choice made out of convenience and selfishness.
I have been a vegan for years and am a trained vegan chef, plant based nutritionist and health coach. I feel it is the most important thing in my life, not only looking after my own health and those I cook for but also for the planet.
For the animals. A more compassionate way to life.
Social worker - because everyone matters. Vegan - same reason.
